Among my favorite Filipino delicacies is kakanin or sticky rice. I love it as a dessert or even for a simple merienda. Aside from biko, tupig, and palitaw, Cassava Cake is one of my favorite. Cassava is commonly called kamoteng kahoy or balinghoy here in the Philippines. It is a classic Filipino dessert that is freshly made from grated cassava and cheese is also be added. You know that any food with cheese is my weakness! I can still remember that my mom used to bake these when we were young and just thinking about it makes me crave.
