"Life is an adventure. Take risks."
Last May of 2013, me and my friend Katy went to White Patar Beach in Bolinao Pangasinan.

White Patar Beach, Bolinao Pangasinan |
Going there, you can ride a bus from Cubao or Pasay. There are several buses from Manila to Bolinao which are Dagupan, Victory Liner, Five Star, Philippine Rabbit and City Trans.
They offer day and night trips, ordinary or air-conditioned bus and bus fare would cost around Php 400-500 one way trip. Bolinao is about 276 kms from Manila, I remembered, nasiraan pa yung bus na sinakyan namin that time nasa Tarlac ata kami and we waited for several minutes for another bus.

It's worth the travel! |
Anyway, I was really bored with the travel time roughly more than 8 hours including sa paghintay ng panibagong bus (it's like going in Cagayan, my mom's province). But I think it's around 5-6 hours kung hindi kame nasiraan. From Bolinao town proper, we rode a trike to Patar Beach.

See the Nipa Hut Kubo's? |
But it's worth all the travel. White Patar Beach in Bolinao is known for its golden sand beach and considered to be the hidden treasure of the North. It is almost untouched because the roads leading to the beach are still unpaved at hindi pa sya masyadong commercialize. Natakot pa kami ng friend ko kasi gabi na kami nakarating dun at ang tataas ng mga talahib that time. Hahaha. Next time, we will travel early in the morning.
Me feeling Dyesebel. :)
Big Rocks

In addition, you can set up a tent, rent a cottage or nipa hut. The only resort right on Patar Beach is Treasures of Bolinao which is mahal. Better choose the nipa huts na kasya na buong family or dala na lang ng tent. It is better to go to the public beach located at the tip of Brgy. Patar at hindi dun sa Puerto Del Sol or Punta Riviera Resort. Gabi na kami dumating that time, so wala ng available na kubos. Luckily, isang caretaker ang mabait na umampon sa min (hahaha). Akala ko talaga sa buhangin na kame matutulog! We rented a room at their house just for a night. Then the next day hinatid kami ng anak nya sa beach front.
Goodmorning Bolinao!
Binigay nya na sa min ng libre yung cottage malapit sa beach. Super tipid talaga. (Sorry nakalimutan ko name ni Manang). Then comfort rooms are public you just have to pay like P5 or P10 pesos, depends if you will take a shower etc. For food naman, meron isang kainan dun na parang carinderia at masarap naman magluto ang chef which is also affordable. But much better if you will just bring your own food.
Nagpapa-tan!
Muni muni ....
Beach Baby!
Love!
Looking for Tsokoys! :)
Feeling turista!
Kulang na lang humiga ako at matulog dito hehehe
My Lomo cam which can be used underwater no battery!
All in all, White Patar Beach is a must to go place if you are looking for an affordable yet superb beach experience.
This is how the sand looks like, golden sand.
White Patar Beach in Bolinao Pangasinan is not the regular beach with white sand. You will be stunned on how the sand is in gold color. Hahaha. Literal, naamazed nga ko kasi color gold/yellowish sya.
Beautiful!
Plus, you will not spend much not unlike any beaches that I know. You can also go in other Bolinao's tourist attractions like Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, Enchanted Cave, Bolinao Falls etc.
'Till our next adventure!
